Check out this opportunity below for anyone interested in learning more about film!!

Toronto Youth Shorts torontoyouthshorts@gmail.com via tdsb.on.ca

Hi Lisa,

My name is Henry and I am the Festival Director of Toronto Youth Shorts, a film festival for those in Southern Ontario under 30 years old. We are seeking high school students in Grades 10, 11, or 12 to join our team as Junior Programmers. This opportunity allows any interested party to work with us in determining our annual festival lineup.

No prior experience is needed but it we are looking for those who at least practice some kind of artistic discipline such as film, theatre, creative writing, photography, dance, or visual arts. This could be through class work or via extra-curricular participation.

Junior Programmers are expected to start in February and work with us until the end of August, with a commitment of meeting once a month and corresponding through email during other periods. The junior programmers can be expected to attend local film screenings to engage artists and review our own programming. We're pretty flexible with schedules and do our best to accommodate school/other work commitments. This opportunity can also go towards the OSSD community hours requirement.

If you can please forward this to your students, that would be greatly appreciatedAnyone that's interested should contact me at torontoyouthshorts@gmail.com with "Junior Programmer" in the subject line by January 27Please have them attach a resume and in the body of the email, outline why they would like to join the committee. More info can be found at http://www.torontoyouthshorts.ca/volunteer.html

Cheers,

Henry Wong
Festival Director
