Written statement for Tattered Seams production work

Upon completion of your t-shirt and poster for Lakeshore's production of Tattered Seams please create an artist statement that addresses the following:

1. Creative Process (Go through the steps of the design process)

Discuss your thought process and how you came up with the visual concept for both your t-shirt and poster.

2. Meaning and Visual Language (use elements and principles of design)

Discuss the design choices you made - addressing colour, font, shape, line (other elements) as well as any significant principles of design and how they expressed the desired mood, feeling and concept based on the client's needs. (Old school small broken down family circus - shiny on the outside, falling apart on the inside)

3. Technical Procedure

Discuss the steps you took to create your final product - both tshirt and poster. Did you use a scanner, digital camera, tracing images, what programs did you use and why?
Discuss any technical challenges you had and how you overcame them.


4. Final Reflection

Are you satisfied with your final product? Why/why not? Do you feel that it met the initial requirements based on the client's needs? What did you learn from this project?

Please submit your final products to the Tattered Seams folder AND post jpg or png on the blog
Post your final written statement on your blog as well.

Written statement for First Stage Logo Assignment

In a written statement that includes your final work, explain the following:

1.     Initial ideas of group members and the creative working process of the group
2.     Your direction with the logo, given the ideas of your group in terms of meaning.     Explain how you addressed the design needs of the client (expressed the personality and qualities of the organization) through the use of visual language (imagery) as well as colour, size, placement, proportion and any other elements and principles of design that are relevant.
3.     Discuss the ideas behind your slogan and what you were trying to express.
4.     Evaluate your logo, stationary and business card by looking at the client’s initial needs. Are you satisfied with your final product? If so, why? If not, why not?
