Culminating Activity
TGI 3MP CyberARTS Year Three
Ms. Silverman

Objective: Create a promotional campaign to accompany the “release of the music video” that centers around a poster, visually expressing the emotional sound and lyrical content of the song.
The campaign should create a buzz about this band leading up to and around the release of the music video.

Poster Requirements:
  1. You must use an original image of some kind – with a final rendering in Photoshop or Illustrator.

  1. Your still image should symbolically convey meaning and enhance the mood/emotion of the song.
  1. You must include some text – the name of the artist, the upcoming release of the single or album and a date. The important thing is that it’s obvious who the artist is and the name of the song, or album and release date are clearly marked.
  1. Demonstrate your technical skills in using Photoshop and/or Illustrator to create an advanced level poster for this band.
  1. Demonstrate your knowledge of design and composition. (Visual hierarchy and emphasis in particular)
  1. Demonstrate your understanding of effective poster design from your research and learning.

Specifications:
Size: Must be printable up to 13x19
Colour Mode must be CMYK for printing
Resolution must be enough for 13x19 @ 300 p.p.i
Photographic images must large enough to accommodate print resolution requirements at that size.

Campaign Requirements:
  1. Your campaign should include a minimum of 2 extra forms of advertising (other than the traditional poster).
  1. Consider events, installations, and other non-traditional forms of marketing that you learned from the Humber Ad Campaign project.
  1. You will be evaluated on creativity, meeting “deliverables” (creating a buzz for target audience), unity and consistent design elements, professionalism, and technical quality
