Mask type tool art. Blog Post # 1.
Your first assignment for this year was to make scratch art and also to use the horizontal mask type tool. Now that you've done and have some idea how to use it, get creative and apply it to something else.
Choose a word - any word and use the mask type tool to create an artistic and creative experience of that word! It's vague, I know, but have fun with it. Use the page and compose your word/image however you'd like. I expect that you'll be saying something by the way that you've composed your image.
That's it.
Due: Friday at the beginning of class. Be prepared to discuss the following:
1. Technical information - how did you do it?
2. Communication - explain what you were trying to achieve.
ALSO - Write the above information on your blog. Please keep in mind that when you are writing on your blog this is for a public audience and therefore you should be mindful of spelling, grammar and capitalizing appropriately! This is not a text, or a tweet, or a facebook post - it's your "professional" face as a CyberARTS students at Lakeshore.
Parameters:
Size: You can make it the default size in Photoshop.
Colour: Any colour
Word: Any word or words.
Evaluation:
Application - of the mask type tool - proper size/use of tool - image inside the letters (5 marks)
Thinking Inquiry - Creativity and thinking in terms of imagery used and word choice (5 marks)
Communication - Composition and placement, colour, size. What are you saying with the design choices you made? (5 marks)
