10 things
1. Retouching blemishes - spot healing brush. Understanding layers.
Choose one of the two retouch portraits in the Photoshop Practice folder. The male portrait may be a little more challenging. Or try both! Put your finished work in the drop off folder.
Then check this out to become aware of how much retouching is done on celebrities!

2. Filters - liquify for subtle effects.
Use the liquify filter on one of the portraits to create subtle effects that improve the photo, then try using the liquify filter to create a fun and wacky effect.
3. Using adjustment layers and masks - to lighten or darken certain areas.
Find the mask_exposure photo in the folder and make adjustments using the exposure tool.
4. Find an image and try removing an object from the background using the content aware fill tool. Repair any remnants of the object with the spot healing brush or the patch tool.
5. Take a portrait of a person and place them on a different background. Have fun with this, but don't spend unnecessary time looking. This is a technical assignment. You should be finished by Monday at the latest. When you're done, save as a psd AND save for web and post it on your blog. Write about your procedure, step by step so you reinforce the learning.
You should have 2-4 images to submit. You might have used the selective adjustment/layer (#3) on your retouching image. That's fine. You might also have removed the object from the blending two images assignment.
In all you should cover these 4 things:
1. Retouching - spot healing brush. And liquify.
2. Adjustment layers and masks for selective adjustment.
3. Remove an object from a background.
4. Place a person on a different background.
